Walking in the stunning Northumberland National Park and the world famous Hadrian's Wall

Why not enjoy a walk along the most iconic sections of Hadrians's wall and then head off North to pick up the Pennine Way path, where you can stop off at a remote mountain bothy in the middle of the woods for lunch. After lunch you will then head off to walk along Greenlee Lough which takes you through a mosaic of habitats, which all look very different depending on the time of year.  The birdlife and insects these habitats support also changes with the seasons.  Taking time to stop off at the bird hide to watch the wildlife on the lough.  Then heading on to pick up the Hadrian's wall path heading towards the highest point along the wall to see the breathtaking views of the vast countryside.

Vallum Lodge is situated in the central section of Hadrian's Wall, located in Twice Brewed.  Perfect for exploring the local area by cycle.  We can accommodate up to 14 guests and provide secure storage for bikes.

Within easy reach you can explore, Vindolanda, Housesteads, The Sill Discovery Centre and Sycamore Gap or if you fancy cycling a little further you can explore The Roman Army Museum, Birdoswald and Chesters Roman Fort.  If you are really wanting to test those legs  you can explore the stunning North Pennines or Kielder Forest Park which offers a fantastic 26 mile off road experience.

The Sill Landscape Discovery Centre @ Once Brewed is due to open at the end of July.
