BBC Music - 5th June

Live musical relay will play out along the entire length of Hadrian's wall turing it into a spectacular wall of sound.

Over a 14 hours period musicians including local opera star Greme Danby will be taking part in a celebration of the first ever BBC music day.  Performances also from Royal Northern Sinfonia, male voice choirs, Northumbrian pipers and many more.

Class cars, open top bus, unicycles, tractors and even a horse will be used to travel sections of the 73 mile route as they pass a baton between west Cumbria and Wallsend.

The finale will see Roman soldiers march the baton up to the fort at Segedunum.
