Stopped for one night on our Pennine Way tour and we found Vallum Lodge to be a pleasant little B&B. We were warmly greeted by our hosts who showed us to room N°4.

The room was a nice size and came with a comfy double bed plus a single too. The bathroom was immaculate and well presented...it looked like it had recently been redecorated in fact. The views from our window were lovely too, very scenic.

Breakfast was really lovely, scrambled eggs, bacon, black pudding and toast...delicious and locally sourced I believe. We also bought a packed lunch for £7.50 which consisted of a sandwich, crisps, banana, biscuit and juice. The lunch was fine, however I was a tad disappointed that I couldn't eat the biscuit as it wasn't gluten free, despite ordering a gluten free sandwich oweing to coeliac disease!

Overall we had really nice stay here and I would recommend this B&B to others.

Specifically requested to stay here again after first staying in 2014. Happy to find hosts were as gracious as ever and the hospitality remains top notch. Great accommodations as well as breakfast and lunch packed for our continued hike on Hadrian's Wall.
