Guest Review on Hadrian's Wall

We really enjoyed the walk along the wall.  It was fairly tough going due to the weather and ground conditions being so saturated, but it was truly amazing.

Although difficult with a heavy backpack, the walk “up top” was the highlight. For me, walking with the unbroken stretches of wall was the most spectacular.  This for me was the most rural and unspoiled part of the walk, and I particularly enjoyed our picnic perched upon Highshield Crags. You really are the only people in the whole world up there, and the air could not be fresher. 

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you, and we really enjoyed the walk. It was fairly tough going due to the weather and ground conditions being so saturated, but it was truly amazing.

Lighting the wall for the Queens Jubilee

Hadrian’s Wall will feature prominently in the range of celebratory events to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games programme.

The televised events surrounding the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, scheduled for 4 June, will feature a series of beacons across Hadrian’s Wall Country linking communities along the length of the World Heritage Site
